Short '66

Short 66

Great Beat-Mod band from Amsterdam. They had at least 8 singles during their career. Heavily influenced by the Mod and Psych bands from the UK. They started in 1966 (hence the name) and I think only lasted until 1960 or 1970. The song featured here is a pure Mod/PopArt/Freakbeat effort.

Here's a great promo card:

This band was the first to cover a Moody Blues tune -- a song called "People Gotta Go". The original Moodies version was on a very rare Continental European Decca EP.

Were Short '66 a milticultural group. A couple of those guys could be Indonesian? Can anyone verify this?

Hellemaal te gek! Ik heb deze gasten ergens in 1966 nog live in Oss gezien. Ze hadden het potentieel om heel groten te worden!!!
Als je nog meer van hen tegenkomt......

Bedankt en groeten
