Not much info out there on this band. I know they were Belgian and I'm pretty sure this 45 was released in 1970. They had at least one other release around 1969-70 also on Fontora records. Lady Masham is a great Pop-Psych track with super FUZZ guitar. Any further info on the band is welcomed.
Listen to it here:
UNION JACK - LADY MASHAM

The fuzz is *unreal*...
I love those Belgian late 60s/early 70s bands, with their primitive fuzz, thick English accents and crude instrumentation.
Don't know much about Union Jack, other than that they released another 45, "Family Adventures / Be A Mother" (Sound Master 1013) in 1970.
Hi
I'm a record collector from Belgium...and today I went to a guy who was selling records...and he also had the 45 of Union jack 'family adventures' & 'be a mother' on the sound-master label. I said i was interested and then he told me he was the drummer from this band!!!
the man is 59 years old now and still busy making some music...he told me these 45's were only pressed +/- 500 copy's! only two 45's exist of this band and they made no lp...
peace!
Hi Phil,
Was that guy, the drummer, called Ben??
I'm from Belgium too, have some copies of Family Adventures en one spare of Lady Masham.
I've seen more copies of Dayaks, Paul and Johnny, Snap Shots,... than this Lady Masham 45
I collect/trade Belgian freakbeat.
Union Jack was from Tienen but i was still unable to track some bandmembers...
Everybody can mail me at xronnyx(at)scarlet.be (of course, replace (at) by @)
Cheers
Ronny
